Musical Fidelity

Musical Fidelity have a proud history of designing and manufacturing some of the best sounding and highest quality Compact Disc players, and the DAC technology within, over the last 20 years.
The current superlative range follows on from classic models like CDT, X-Ray, Nu Vista, A 308, A5 and many more highly awarded players.

The Musical Fidelity AMS CD DAC is the current top of the range. Featuring Quad dual differential DAC’s, Pure Class A analog stages and balanced inputs and outputs the AMS CD is excellent.
There are two Musical Fidelity M Series CD players. The Musical Fidelity M6 CD featuring 24 bit,192k true up-sampling, balanced outputs and the ability to use the inbuilt DAC independently. The entry level in this series is the Musical Fidelity M3 CD featuring a unique mains choke filter, very low distortion, noise and jitter.

Krell

Great sound has to start with a great source. Much of what we've learned in designing our amplifiers and preamplifiers has also helped us create our award-winning line of CD, SACD, and DVD players.

The heart of any optical disc player is its digital-to-analog converter, or DAC. When audio signals are converted from digital to analog, the result is a current signal. Typical DACs immediately convert this to a voltage signal that conventional preamps can work with. Krell instead keeps the signal in the current domain, feeding it directly to our Current Mode circuitry and removing unnecessary circuitry in the process. The result is extraordinary clarity and transparency - a sound with the dynamics of digital audio and the delicacy for which analog sources are prized.

Our disc players are further distinguished by separate power supplies for digital, analog, and mechanical sections; extensive internal shielding to isolate the circuitry from electromagnetic interference; and robust toroidal power-supply transformers.

18 March 2011: Peachtree Audio’s new iDac is a stand-alone DAC fitted with an iPod dock that takes the digital output from your iPod/iPhone/Touch and delivers it directly to a 24/192 32-bit 9016 Sabre DAC. This new DAC is a significant improvement on the previous DACs used by Peachtree, and enable the iDAC to offer a coaxial digital input that will accept 24/192 audio files and USB and Optical digital inputs that will accept 24/96 audio files.
